Malcolm S. Carter-Harris, PhD
PhD, leadership development expertise, VUCA preparedness
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, I’ve spent the past 24 years in the New York City area, building a career dedicated to leadership development, organizational transformation, and resilience in complex environments.
My experience includes roles at The Mosaic Company, General Electric, and Hexcel Corporation, where I led global initiatives and created programs to align leadership with strategic goals. With a PhD in Organizational Development and Leadership, my research in VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environments is central to my work at Apex Development Partners.
As a 1st Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, I bring the discipline and resilience of martial arts into leadership coaching. I am Founder and CEO of Apex Development Partners, LLC. Empowers organizations to excel in unpredictable environments through consulting, training, and speaking engagements. At Apex, we don’t just elevate organizations—we elevate excellence.


Amanda Harris-Carter
award-winning author, creative writing expert, and DEIB advocate
Amanda Harris is a dedicated writing coach, award-winning fiction writer, meticulous
editor and dynamic facilitator. She believes in the universal power of storytelling to enrich
businesses, and commitment to the undeniable power of personal narrative. Amanda’s mission
includes championing historically underrepresented voices, harnessing the power of rigorous
self-reflection and careful attention to craft.
Amanda won The Normal School’s Prize for Fiction for her short story, “Isle au Haut,” and was a finalist for The Missouri Review’s Editors’ Prize for Fiction, for her story, “Montage.” She is currently completing the final edits on her debut novel, a work of literary fiction about two undercover FBI agents who infiltrate a radical animal rights group suspected of domestic terrorism.
Amanda emphasizes process over product, and works with writers to overcome personal challenges, including perfectionism and procrastination. She believes that all good writing is derived from good editing. Amanda lived in NYC for 25 years, is an active advocate for all animals, and spends her free time practicing yoga and picking orange cat hair off all her clothing.
